Eindhoven has a rich culture when it comes to music. From pop heroes to bedroom producers, from techno heads to carnival hits, the city has seen it all. But what is the real sound of Eindhoven? You are from Eindhoven, are living in the area, or have a strong connection with the city. Create your musical ode to Eindhoven free of genre. Upload your track before April 11, 2021, share the track on your socials with #thesoundofeindhoven, and tag @thesoundofeindhoven.
We will give away two prizes: the audience award and the jury prize. Who will win the audience award? The participating track with the most votes will be the chosen winner. Everyone can vote once for their favorite track via this link. Besides the audience award, the expert jury will also choose a winner from the participating entries. First of all, the track will receive the official title of Eindhoven Anthem. This anthem will be recorded in a professional recording studio, and released on the A-side of a vinyl. Plus the submitted track will get an official music video. You will receive €1,000 in prize money.
The track that received the most votes during the voting period, will win the audience award. Which means the track will be recorded in a professional recording studio. We will release the recorded song on the B-side of the vinyl. The winner will also receive €1,000 in prize money.

Iris Penning is a singer-songwriter and radio host. Last year, she got the title of city poet of Eindhoven. With her poetic pop songs, Iris has already touched many audiences. Now she continues to surprise us with her intriguing lyrics for the city.
BOB DE WIT
Bob de Wit started in a band of his own. Now he is the owner of Super Nova Studio, that manages and produces for bands. He is also the co-founder of the online music sessions called ‘The Sessions’.
Miss Djax or Saskia Slegers, better known as The Acid Queen, is a DJ, entrepreneur, and above all, a pioneer in the acid, techno, and hip-hop scene. With her record label Djax-Up-Beats, she made house music from Chicago gain a foothold in Europe. She also wrote history by being the first company to release Nederhop (Dutch spoken rap-music).
MIGGS DE BRUIJN
Migue Bolambe alias Miggs de Bruijn is a Congolese-Dutch rapper. In collaboration with Dynamo and 040Records, he set foot on hip-hop ground for the first time and has never left. Previously he was an act at the Appelsap Festival, and in 2016 he gained over a million views with his 101Barz winter session.
ANNEKE VAN GIERSBERGEN
Anneke van Giersbergen has been on stage as a singer since she was twelve. First in pop groups and the band The Gathering, later solo. She is like a chameleon: she knows how to adapt to all kinds of genres. No wonder she was nominated twice for an Edison and received the Buma ROCKS! Export Award.
From the moment he bought his first music tool, a Roland MC303 for those in the know, Frank Sens has devoted his life to the music scene. As Y'skid, you'll encounter him as a DJ and producer. His body of work includes everything from collaborations with Dutch rappers like Brainpower and Fresku to theater shows.
You might know Frank Veenstra as the artistic manager of the Muziekgebouw, where he has been responsible for managing innovative programs full of interesting crossovers for over fifteen years. He is also active as Creative Producer and the driving force behind the singer-songwriter outfit Aidan's Well.
